Committed! Launching an app on June 8, 2026

After weeks, or really months, of interacting with AI coding engines, I am ready to commit. For the last month, I have been hanging out for about 3-hours per day with my buddy Codex from Open AI. During this period, my buddy and I have created lots and lots of great code. We’ve started one application after another. It has been fun. But, I’ve had enough fun and now it is time to make something happen.

Codex is my dance partner of choice. There are a few reasons that I’ve chosen it over the alternatives, but that is not the real news here. The real news is that Codex and I have put together an MVP for an app and we have established June 8, 2026 as the launch date for the app. Today is April 7th, so there is not a minute to waste so I am going to keep this article short.

It is perhaps a week too early to give out more details, but stay tuned to my blog and I’ll slowly reveal more as more progress is made. But, everybody loves or hates a tease, so here is my tease about the application:

  • I am building an application that brings value to a community and I will offer a freemium model as well as a couple of paid subscription models.

  • The community that I am targeting is small, but they are very motivated. If I can bring value to this community it will be a win for the community and a win for me as well.

  • In terms of the dance with Codex, I am the domain expert and Codex is EVERYTHING else. Because these AI engines are so good once you’ve done enough practice dances, I have largely turned things over to Codex and I am simply a domain expert to Codex.

I’ll try to add to my blog frequently as progress is made on the app. Ideally, relatively soon I’ll even announce the URL so you can start to take an early look at what we are producing.

That’s it for now. Codex is wanting me to get back to work on the app.
