ABOUT
This is it! This is the day back in 1981 when I realized how much I loved math.
There I was sitting in my math class watching my teacher, Mr. Morgan, drawing on the chalkboard a few minutes at a time. As he added to the chalkboard he would pause for a few minutes to describe what he had just drawn and drop hints about what he was going to draw next. At first it seemed like any other day, but about half-way through the period, saw the beauty. I just sat there and took it all in.
As class was about to end, Mr. Morgan grabbed an eraser and was about ready clean the chalkboard to prepare for the next period. “No Way!”, I shouted.
I insisted that this piece of artwork be preserved. After a little bit of back and forth between me and Mr. Morgan, he agreed to allow the yearbook staff to come and take a photograph, but only if I was also in the picture.
And so it is that math is my favorite form of art.
